2021 UCI BMX World Championships go ahead for Elite and Junior riders – no Challenge races

The competent authorities of the Netherlands have confirmed that both the Elite and Junior races for men and women at the 2021 UCI BMX World Championships shall go ahead as scheduled on 21 and 22 August in Papendal. However, due to the current pandemic (Covid-19) linked to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the Challenge races for amateurs will be cancelled.

📜 Statement from USA BMX. 🇺🇸

With the current announcement from the UCI regarding the cancellation of the 2021 World Challenge Championship, USA BMX will issue refunds for registered participants of Team USA.

Each registered rider will receive a $390 refund for each class registered. This refund is considered full value as each team rider will be receiving their jersey that was included. If additional jerseys were purchased they will be shipped.

Refunds will be processed by July 31st, 2021 and Jersey’s will be shipped by August 15th.

With the unfortunate cancellation and late announcement of it, we have already processed registration and production on jerseys are nearly complete. We look forward to seeing all of our USA riders at future USA BMX National Series events.
