
Rum River started as an outdoor track in Isanti, Minnesota. But the folks in the Land of 10,000 Lakes wanted an indoor facility. A facility to that would give their riders a chance to compete on the national level. So, they came up with the idea of covering the track. Allowing riders to train 365 days a year. In 2012 the folks at Rum River began crunching the numbers and meeting with the city. The City of Isanti liked the idea and backed the group. The building was built with financing of bonds to the tune of $2.5 million. In August of 2014 after the last outdoor state final ran construction began. The grand opening happened in March of 2015. This is interview is all about Rum River as a facility, the number of riders, the amenities, and has Minnesota BMX grown because of this state of the art facility.
